Blue wallet is a Bitcoin wallet focused on making Bitcoin fun and usable. The wallet supports Bitcoin wallets that use SegWit and Bitcoin lightning wallets for cheap/free transactions.
Design
The wallet has a really nice and clean design that is not too confusing for a beginning user. The minimalist style that Blue wallet has chosen makes it so that there are only two pages within the app, the wallets page and a settings page. The wallets page shows your wallets and their balances, the transactions (including unconfirmed transactions) and a button to Local trader which is a P2P bitcoin marketplace. On the settings page you find the normal settings that you would expect to be there like security, language, etc. there is however an advanced mode function that you can find under general. I highly advise you only use this when you possess more technical knowledge about Bitcoin and the lightning network.
Features
When It comes to extra features (besides sending and receiving crypto) Blue wallet offers the following.
- Instant and cheap payments with the lightning network
- Advanced mode for experienced users
- BTC Network fee adjuster
- Fingerprint security
Is Blue wallet safe?
Blue Wallet is a popular Bitcoin wallet that offers users some security features to ensure the safety of their funds. The wallet uses advanced encryption techniques to protect users' private keys, which are stored securely on their own devices rather than on Blue Wallet's servers. Additionally, the wallet offers the ability to set a password for added security. Blue Wallet is open source, which means that its code can be inspected by developers and security experts to ensure that there are no vulnerabilities or backdoors. Overall, while no wallet can be considered completely foolproof, Blue Wallet can be considered a secure option for storing and managing your BTC/Sats on lightning and the main chain.
Improvements
Like every other Wallet out there, Blue wallet has flaws and missing things. The flaws that I point out are of course based on my personal opinion and I would like to point out that they don’t always have to be a hindrance to anyone.
The Blue wallet looks great and is simple in its use, but like everything, it could use some improvements. So would it be nice to see the transactions only when you go to a selected wallet instead of showing the transactions of all wallet on the main page. I would also love to see an address book for users so that it will become easier to pay friends and transfer money to them.
Conclusion
The Blue wallet is a great wallet with the implementation of SegWit and lightning of which both I am a big fan of. The styling and the focus of Blue wallet is very good but could use a little bit of fine-tuning. Overall the wallet performs exactly like it should and I will be using it more in the future. So it scores a whopping 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Extra note: So always check the date of this review to see if it is relevant. Wallets can add new functions and change designs to improve their product so a bad review now won’t mean they can’t be great in the future.
